There are no crowds to deal with in your living room, and you can just laugh at inclement weather outside. You can also lift and work out at your own pace without the usual distractions of a crowded gym where all you hear is grunting and groaning.
Conversely, free weight fitness training at home can sometimes be limited by a lack of a variety of weights, and in order to continue your progress you will need to purchase more weights. It can be difficult to work on extremely heavy bench press lifts at home due to a lack of a spotter, but you can remedy that situation by teaming up with a neighbor or buddy for your heavy weight workouts.
Exercising with free weights at home can be a winning situation if you have the discipline to develop a habit of regular and thorough workouts. If you will keep at it and work with free weights until your routine becomes an automatic good habit, the benefits of that good habit might just last your entire lifetime.
